Indirect Cost

For Grants: see the definition of Facilities and Administrative (F&A) Costs (or indirect costs) on the NIH OER Glossary & Acronym List.

For Contracts: §2.101 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation states "Indirect cost" means any cost not directly identified with a single final cost objective, but identified with two or more final cost objectives or with at least one intermediate cost objective.
